Welcome to the website of Abraham García González

As it happens to many people, I discovered Opera by pure chance.  Enthusiastic is not even close to describe the feelings I felt about Opera, that puzzle of different arts that are brought together on stage.  This immediate fascination became my vocation. Even though I was studying History at the University of Oviedo, it was clear to me that I would finish my degree and go to Italy to study vocal performance.

So I did. I went to Parma and this was the beginning of an exciting and challenging journey. I have lived many electrifying moments of intense connection with the audience and other, more private, wandering through countless hours of practice, sacrificed study to perfect each note and explore the deepest nuances of each character I perform.

Every performance for me is an act of vulnerability and courage. Where I immerse myself in the text of the roles I play. My ultimate goal is to reach the depths of the listeners through the soul of the characters I give life to.  This career is full of unexpected experiences and curiosities that I have tried to portray on this website.

I invite you to explore this space with the same wonder that floods me when I prepare a role: who would have thought that a kid from “Mieres del Camino” was going to end up singing opera in Spain, Italy, Czech Republic or even Japan.
